Official Groups
These groups are officially registered and covered by HEWA Public Liability Insurance, Workers Compensation and the HEWA Code of Conduct.
HEWA strongly recommend all members of the home education community organising groups utilise this coverage under their HEWA membership for their own peace of mind.

LEAP (Learn, Educate & Play) East Victoria Park
LEAP is a program of weekly classes for home-educated students. It provides a welcoming environment for students to make new friends, enjoy learning and socialising with peers. Parents are welcome to stay and chat or drop off and return at the end of the class. Enrol in one class or stay for the whole day.
Location: Leisurelife Centre, Kent Street, East Victoria Park
When: Held weekly on Thursdays during term time.
Activities: Science, Drama/Health, Art, History/Geography classes

Kelmscott Homeschool Group (KHG)
The Kelmscott Homeschool Group idea was developed to facilitate an opportunity for home educating families with shared goals to grow and develop together. The group started in Armadale, moved to Kelmscott Hall for several years. 2021 location is Piara Waters Pavilion.
Location: Rossiter Pavilion, Piara Waters
When: Held weekly on Mondays during term time.
Activities: Science, Art, Rhythm & Voice, Theatre & Drama, HASS

North of River (NOR) Homeschool Village
NOR Homeschool Village runs a face-to-face group on Wednesdays, 9:30-2:30 ish at Butler Community Centre for school-aged children from around 5-16 with a variety of classes and activities. Younger children are welcome if accompanying a school age sibling – we are not a playgroup. Parents/guardians must be on-site at all times – it is not a drop-and-run service. There is time for free play together with others too.
NOR Homeschool Village is also a social media group where people in the Northern suburbs of Perth can ask questions, connect with others and share other excursions and activities being organised too. Only activities on Wednesdays at the hall are covered by our insurance.
Location: Butler Community Centre, corner of Connolly Drive and Kingsbridge Blvd, Butler.
When: Held weekly on Wednesdays during term time.
Activities: Multi-sports and music with qualified instructors and a range of other volunteer-led activities.

Catholic Homeschoolers in Perth
Catholic Homeschoolers in Perth WA cannot be found on social media or online, but there is a large Catholic homeschooling community in Perth. If you’d like to be put in touch with this community, you can contact Miriam on 0457788739, or find Miriam Maynard on many of the WA FB pages and contact her that way.
Midland Library Homeschool Group

This Home School group (mostly primary-aged kids) runs weekly throughout the school terms at the Old Court House (behind the Midland Library). Activities are usually hands-on and STEM-based that cover subjects such as physics, chemistry, engineering, and robotics. They also like to include Art/Craft, Lego, literature, history, and any other topics that the group would like as much as possible. Events are created term by term and a limited number of members will be able to join the activities. Sessions are either free, a nominal contribution for materials or Presenters will be engaged to run the sessions.

This group of home-educating families meet regularly for organised incursions/excursions. Mainly children aged from 6 – 12 years.
Cockburn Incursion Club

Incursions for home-educating families. They meet fortnightly at the Wandi Progress Association (in the Pavillion) at 302 Da Haer Rd, Wandi. Each fortnight a different incursion is arranged through different companies and organisations with a variety of subject matters for a variety of ages. Families often stay and have lunch and a play at the park after the incursion.

A friendly community of nature-loving parents across Perth who homeschool their children. “We want to give our children a love for nature; we do this by meeting weekly in differing bush/coast/wetland locations across Perth. There is nothing formal, just families meeting together and enjoying nature.”
Monday Social Group

A very casual, social meet for homeschooling children. Catch ups will be held fortnightly on Monday mornings at various parks, rivers and open spaces, mostly throughout the City of Swan area but occasionally may go beyond for area of interest. We break over the school holidays.
