Australasian Exploration Geoscience Conference (AEGC 2025) will hold its annual conference in September.

On Wednesday 10 September there is a Geoscience day for high school aged students in Years 10-12

Home Education WA has registered as a ‘school’ for this event with a capacity of 15 students and their parents.

Day: Wednesday 10 September

Location: Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, which is located close to both the Elizabeth Quay Bus station and the Elizabeth Quay train station.

Time 9:15-14:30

Time: Please aim to arrive between 9am and 9:15am. We will enter the conference as ONE Home Education WA group.

Options:

  1. Parent to stay for the duration.
  2. ‘Drop off and leave’ with HEWA committee member Monique Stone. Please ensure you are contactable throughout the day and pick up at 2:30pm.

Format for the day:

9-9:15am arrive, check in with Monique Stone

9:40-10:20 WA – a global resources hotspot

10:20-10:40 morning tea break

10:40-12:30 6 rotating hands-on activities with industry professionals

12:30-12:50 Careers panel

12:50-13:20 lunch break (with invited geoscientists)

13:20-13:30 closing session

13:30-14:30 guided exhibition and technology tour.

What to bring:

It is recommend that students bring a water bottle and something for lunch.

There are some light refreshments offered by the organisers of the event for morning tea and lunch; the exact details have not been issued and we therefore cannot give allergen advice.
