What are the rules of the event?

We have kept the rules simple. They are in place to ensure that all young people have a safe, enjoyable evening. Please read these out to all young people you are booking a ticket for (including plus one’s).

By purchasing a ticket, you and the young person agree to these rules:

1. The HEWA Teen Ball is a teen-only event:
I agree that I am at least 13 years of age, and no more than 19 years of age on the day of the event (Saturday 2nd of November 2024). I agree that any ‘plus one’ also meets age requirements. I agree the date of birth on the booking form for each attendee is correct.

2. The HEWA Teen Ball is a smoke, drug and alcohol-free event:
I agree that I will not engage in these activities whilst at the event. If I exhibit signs of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, I will be required to leave.

3. The HEWA Teen Ball is a ‘lock-in’ event. All attendees will be supervised by HEWA committee members and volunteers, who each have a Working with Children Check:
I understand that it is my responsibility to always remain on the premises until I am collected by a parent/guardian at the end of the evening. I understand that a parent or guardian must sign me in and out of this event.

4. The HEWA Teen Ball should be a safe, and inclusive space where all attending can have fun:
I understand that I should treat everyone attending with kindness and respect, and bring any problematic behaviour (i.e., bullying or harassment) to the attention of a HEWA adult volunteer if I see it.

5. The HEWA Teen Ball will have a photographer present to take single and group photos. A backdrop and props will be set up to allow everyone to capture the fun. You are welcome to take photos of yourself and your friends.
I understand that I need to be mindful that not everyone wants to have their photo taken and especially may not agree to have this distributed on social media. I agree to seek the consent of others before taking their photo and/or sharing it on social media.

6. Refunds will only be offered if the event is cancelled.
I understand that the ticket is not refundable unless the event is cancelled. A minimum of 100 attendees is required by 1 September 2024. If this number is not reached tickets will be refunded.
